In the virtual environment - especially if you’re in a “suddenly virtual” situation - it seems there are more demands coming at us from all sides than ever before.
In this Course, we will discuss useful tactics in three areas:
- Sorting Distractions from Priorities: The first thing we have to do is distinguish between what is truly important and adds value versus what is demanding our time but shouldn’t necessarily receive it.
- Mindful Re-Focusing: We’ll help you get focused, stay focused, and then Mindfully Re-Focus when necessary.
- Using the Tools: In each section we’ll offer a few tips on using Technology Tools to support your planning, focus and productivity, rather than distracting you from it.
Refocusing is the capacity to
intentionally move your focus and attention from
one significant task to a completely different engagement.
It’s not multitasking,
which is juggling multiple tasks simultaneously.
Sorting Priorities From Distractions
The first challenge is to distinguish which things competing for your attention are truly priorities vs. which can wait until later, and which are just time-wasting distractions.
Getting Focused and Staying Focused
Practical tools and strategies to get in a frame of mind for focus and to stay focused.
Mindfully Refocusing
The reality is that there are multiple demands that pop up unexpectedly, clamoring for our time and attention. Determine if we need to deflect, or intentionally move from one priority to the next.
